Today I will be demonstrating for you how to properly use some of the equipment locatedin Curriculum Materials Library.
The two-color poster printer is used to enlargeany photo or document to a 23 by 31 inch poster.
Now, there are several color selections availableto making your poster; red and white, blue and white, black and white.
Those are justa few examples of the various colors we have available.
When making your poster you first want to decide if you're going to laminate it or not.
Our regular paper is heat sensitive, so it's not able to be laminated, but we have anothertype of paper that you can laminate.
After you figure out what color you want to useand if you want to laminate it, you can begin making your poster.
Today, I'm going to make a poster that's not going to be laminated so I'm going to grabthe regular paper and open up the machine.
I'm going to take the two end caps and placethem at either end of the roll and then gently slide the roll into the machine.
I'm goingto pull out the paper just a little bit, then shut the machine.
Now there are a few things I need to make sure before starting to make my poster.
SinceI'm not laminating it, I have to pick the paper type.
And then I have to decide if Iwant to use a photo setting, a reverse setting, or a normal setting.
With the normal setting,it's just going to be all black and all white.
With the photo setting, you'll get a few hintsof gray in there for, like, photos.
And then for the reverse setting, it's going to dowhite lettering on a black background.
Since today I'm making a blue poster, it's goingto be blue writing on a white background.
So I'm going to change my setting to normal,and then take my sheet of paper, place it face down on the right of the scanner, andpush it in.
I'm going to hit start and it's going to start making my poster for me.
Whenthe posters all done printing you're going to push down on this handle here and slideacross to cut the poster.
Any patron may use the poster printer whenvisiting the CML.
The library staff will assist you in setting up the poster printer and willhelp you making your poster.
Now the two types of paper, the regular and the laminate-able,have different prices.
But there is no cost to just using the poster printer.
When using the full color poster maker you can either scan in a document or a photo,or find online documents or photos to print, but you want to be sure they're in.

So here I have a photo that I'm going to print.
I'm going to go to the printmenu and hit print.
When this shows up I have to be sure to hit the hp design jet 500 byhp.
This will send it to the full color poster printer.
And under paper size I'm going towant to hit oversize ANSI D.
That insures that your picture of document blows up tothe full size of the poster paper.
I'm not going to fit picture to frame because, asyou can see, I cannot see it on my computer.
So once I uncheck that my picture will appear.
