Printing Services San Francisco – Who does Same Day Printing?
Walk down a typical street in any major city, like San Francisco, and you’ll see posters hanging all over the place; in shop windows, on utility poles, buses, and benches.
Walk into a shopping centre or public building and you’ll be sure to find a variety of posters telling you what to buy or where to go.
Posters have long been an eye catching way for advertisers to get their message across. SFBayPosters.com understands that since our inception! But until recently, poster printing has also been somewhat expensive.
Prior to the development of digital printing technology, the most common method for poster printing was lithography.
Hey, what's up you guys I am back today with something that I'm very excited about Before I went on vacation, I ordered this and I am so excited to see what it looks like so I ordered a poster of my own photography and I've never done this before.
I've never ordered a poster I've never seen my work blown up in poster size.
I just have never done it.
I am very curious as to what this is gonna look like and honestly, I've been wanting a Tom Petty poster in my room for a long time So once I bought this it took me probably Seven eight days to get it So it took me quite a while.
I wasn't really happy with that.
But I also didn't want a paper shipping So I got the cheapest shipping my cut Okay, guys, this is the moment of truth I just opened it I Haven't unrolled it.
I don't know what it looks like.
I'm so nervous.
Wait You don't understand how nervous I am like what what if it looks like shit Oh Oh my gosh, it's so sharp it works I'm gonna cry a little bit This is so surreal.
I've never seen my work this big and It looks so good like Holy So his skin I don't know if you can see There's such a bad glare it's a little more orange Than I would prefer it to but overall I think it looks pretty natural still having this kind of like orange color is fine normally when I print something I end up like Overcompensate for screams and then when I print it's a little bit more orange than I wanted it to be But I think overall that's fine Like the lighting in my room is a low yellow right now.
It looks a little bit more orange than it actually is But I honestly think this quality is pretty good.
Like the actual paper is like thick poster paper So I'm happy with that I'm happy with how it looks up close like it looks like a beautiful beautiful picture They printed it.
Well, the quality is good Like you can see all the detail on his hair Like I definitely hit focus because it's in focus this, you know close-up or blown up I love this.
I Am clearly so impressed So what I think I'm gonna do is go tomorrow and get the appropriate sized frame for it because I Definitely don't want it to get beat up.
I don't want to ruin it So I want to put it in a frame right away and I have the perfect spot on my wall for it So I'm going to rearrange my wall a little bit.
This is also photos.
I've taken this one as well this one up here and like the rest is just Kind of concert music stuff that I love especially My Alice Cooper five dollar bill But I have this old record sleeve of Tom Hetty's so I'm going to keep this kind of centered and put the poster down here and Kind of move everything around it Guys I'm I'm so excited.
Like honestly I could not have asked for a better print and I'm I'm impressed for how much it was I am Incredibly incredibly impressed So I will record it again Tomorrow once I get the new frame and we'll put everything up and see how the wall looks after that.
Okay? see you guys but so it is the next day and I now have my Frame for my Tom Petty poster and I am going to clean up the wall.
That's right here behind me and Get ready to put up this poster.
I am so excited.
The frame is beautiful.
The frame is just like this big huge Basic thing that I got at Walmart, so it's it wasn't that much I think it was like 16 dollars and Then I'm gonna put my print into it, see how it looks and get ready and hang it I just realized that I never Thought about how I was gonna hang it up So now I have to go find a hammer and nails and see if we can get this thing, huh? Okay, this is beautiful, there's so much glare from my window right now Yeah patty you got more patty I Think it looks real good I'm really excited have finally hung it up and I'm going to do a little bit more Decoration around the edges and everything, but for now I'm so happy like the print still looks so so good I have like no complaints about ordering this print and Yeah, I'm just super super happy.
Oh my gosh you guys this is amazing So good Yes, the last thing that I wanted to say it was that I did order through this print this is not sponsored That's just who I ordered through and I spent 1499 on the poster itself getting it printed and about 1617 dollars I think on the frame the only issues I had with Vistaprint and the poster itself is that vistaprint allows TI FF photos TIFF photos, whatever you want to call on and when I tried to order my poster, I tried to use that format and Vistaprint actually didn't allow it.
It said that it was too big so that was kind of Annoying for me to have a website say hey, we allow this kind of photo which has more information but then when I went to upload that type of photo that file format It was like no you can't do this.
This is too much information.
So I thought that was kind of stupid Frustrating on my part because obviously I wanted to use the best quality that I could get But I wound up just converting it to JPEG and the poster itself looks beautiful.
So no complaints there It was just kind of annoying going through the actual purchasing process for a poster.
It actually cost me $22, I forgot about shipping and tax, but for a poster that was $22 and then like 16 17 bucks for a frame.
I actually think that it turned out great It looks good.
It's the quality that I would expect for a poster.
So I'm really happy with it And I'm really happy that it's on my wall.
So all in all for what I paid for it I am super excited about this poster.
I am very happy to have it on my wall I have never seen my work this big before so I'm super stoked and just so happy that it turned out this well, so thanks for hanging out with me guys as I bought and unpackage this and hopefully you found this interesting and you can go get a poster of your own work now - Thanks, and we'll see you in the next video.
Lithography is an offset printing process which involves creating an image on a plate, then using that plate to transfer the image to a rubber blanket and then to the paper.
A system of water repulsion is used to protect non-printed surfaces from absorbing ink.
Lithography provides extremely crisp and clean prints especially where photographs are used as part of the image.
But the downside is cost. On a per-piece basis, Lithograph printing is cost-prohibitive for small quantities, because set-up time for the press is built into the price. Regardless of how many prints are being made, set-up costs are the same.
The only way to bring the per-piece price down is to order in large quantities. It’s not uncommon for printers to have minimum quantity requirements in order to justify the time and expense of press set-up.
Advances in digital printing are revolutionizing poster printing as well the entire print industry.
Layouts and images are now often designed before hand by the customer and delivered to the printer on a disc. This eliminates the need for the services of the print shop’s in-house layout department, saving time and money.
With digital there are no plates to prepare, no inks to blend, and no monitoring of presses to assure consistency.
Digital printing uses large-scale inkjet printers attached to a standard desktop computer.
A minor amount of image manipulation might be required to match the image to the printer’s format, but once that’s done it only takes a mouse click and you’re off and printing.
And modern fade-resistant inks mean a final product which rivals lithography in overall quality.
Additionally, the efficiency and speed of digital printing today result in a lower cost per piece for smaller jobs.
It virtually guarantees a consistent product throughout the run and also allows further runs be produced with no additional set-up.
For individual consumers, digital printing offers them the ability to make a poster or two for their own family gatherings, holidays, and other special occasions without ever leaving home.
Images can be created on the home computer then uploaded to the site of an online print shop. One just needs to enter payment and shipping information and then wait for his posters to arrive. It couldn’t be simpler.
There’s still plenty of room for both lithography and digital in the world of poster printing.
Each has its advantages and disadvantages depending on customer needs. Yet regardless of which process is used, one thing’s for certain: the print industry continues to evolve.
Assalamualaikum Everyone !!! How are you all ?Hope you are doing Great.
I am doing ok So our topic is little different today We will discuss about Design psychology for making some great Business card.
There are so many people know how to design but dont know what to design.
What should be the shape , color concepts , font etc The tips i am going to share with you are absolutely my personal opinion.
I am working with adobe since 2010 and from then i gather so many information and that's what i am going to share.
So please watch the whole video.
This is the first part of the video and in this video i will talk about only design psychology and rules.
There are some varieties in card size.
The standard size is H : 2 and W : 3.
5 Inch Number 1 : Simple Shapes When you will design a business card , don't make it complex The shapes you are using in card should be very simple.
See the Demos See very simple and common shapes.
The text shouldn't be overlapped with our shapes and designs.
Another simple but very smart card.
A triangle and some white spaces and simple texts Number 2 : We shouldn't add picture in business card This is one type of unprofessional-ism to me The RGB bitmap images wont be print good in CMYK color modes.
This is another reason for avoiding this.
Number 3 : Include only the most important information in your card.
Lets watch some messy card Bad color composition , too much noise , No alignment Icon is too big and the text is too small More than 4 colors , Extra information When we see a business card the first impression is very important.
Too much information , color and text ruin the smartness of the Card.
There should be logo , Company Name , Tagline , email address , Phone , Website and Physical address only Number 4 : Avoid Full Coverage We should not fill the whole business card with design and text.
These are some rules that can be followed.
There should be some white space White space is good practice Number 5 : Ensure Your Contact Details are easy to follow.
See here the Text are Perfectly balanced and easy to follow The text color should not be overlapped with background color.
Number 6 : Make sure your contact details are correct.
Should not be any typos or spelling mistake or wrong contact details.
It will ruin the whole matter.
Number 7 : Simplicity Don't over design your card.
Follow the First rules Number 9 : Right Color composition , Font and other attributes.
There shouldn't' be more than 3/4 color You can get some help from here.
The combination is very important in business card.
You have to choose color by your topic Yellow stands for Youth and positivism Orange stands for Command and Control Red stands for Power and Urgency Pink is always for feminine Purple stands for peace Blue goes with everything specially safety and confidence Green is a great color too.
Stands for natural and serenity Black goes with luxury and strength So I have to choose color from the perspective of our topic.
What is the main theme of that company If we have already a logo we have to use color from there in business card There are some combination that you can follow.
This is a standard setting The combination can be opposite colors or can be tint from same color.
You have to explore with this things to understand better.
I am sharing this in the description.
Come to the FONT The font is very important element in card There should be some connection with fonts and design and topics.
There are 4 basic Characteristics in fonts Script , Slab Serif , Serif and Sans serif You have to download fonts sometimes to match better Serif always goes with Corporate Sans Serif goes with Elegant design Scripts is going with handwritten look Slab serif goes with modern Design There are some suggestion of fonts can be used in Business card Common fonts works better in business card because the details should be clean in card.
More than 2 fonts in a card will not be recommended.
Some other rules can be followed There should be enough white space in our card.
The logo and other shapes should have some unity Scattering elements could make your card worst The position of you shapes and texts are important The text should be perfectly aligned and Perfactly sized So i think you guys learn something new today.
We have to understand the topic first then we have to choose color and fonts Gradient shouldn't be used in Card The blend will not give you good output in print Lets compare some good and bad business card.
Watch this , too much color , shapes You will not understand the meaning of this card Nice Card but the blend of colors will not be good in print.
We have to exclude this idea from our head.
This is an ideal card Only 3 color White space , simple font , easy to follow , easy to understand the text.
Simple but Smart Watch this.
Same things : 3/4 solid color , a little pattern , simple shapes , text are recognizable and easy to follow.
Very simple but smart as well Less color composition.
simple fonts , aligned text.
not too much elements.
