Printing Services San Francisco – Who does Same Day Printing?

Walk down a typical street in any major city, like San Francisco, and you’ll see posters hanging all over the place; in shop windows, on utility poles, buses, and benches.

Walk into a shopping centre or public building and you’ll be sure to find a variety of posters telling you what to buy or where to go.

Posters have long been an eye catching way for advertisers to get their message across. SFBayPosters.com understands that since our inception! But until recently, poster printing has also been somewhat expensive.

Prior to the development of digital printing technology, the most common method for poster printing was lithography.

Hey, what's up you guys I am back today with something that I'm very excited about Before I went on vacation, I ordered this and I am so excited to see what it looks like so I ordered a poster of my own photography and I've never done this before.

I've never ordered a poster I've never seen my work blown up in poster size.

I just have never done it.

I am very curious as to what this is gonna look like and honestly, I've been wanting a Tom Petty poster in my room for a long time So once I bought this it took me probably Seven eight days to get it So it took me quite a while.

I wasn't really happy with that.

But I also didn't want a paper shipping So I got the cheapest shipping my cut Okay, guys, this is the moment of truth I just opened it I Haven't unrolled it.

I don't know what it looks like.

I'm so nervous.

Wait You don't understand how nervous I am like what what if it looks like shit Oh Oh my gosh, it's so sharp it works I'm gonna cry a little bit This is so surreal.

I've never seen my work this big and It looks so good like Holy So his skin I don't know if you can see There's such a bad glare it's a little more orange Than I would prefer it to but overall I think it looks pretty natural still having this kind of like orange color is fine normally when I print something I end up like Overcompensate for screams and then when I print it's a little bit more orange than I wanted it to be But I think overall that's fine Like the lighting in my room is a low yellow right now.

It looks a little bit more orange than it actually is But I honestly think this quality is pretty good.

Like the actual paper is like thick poster paper So I'm happy with that I'm happy with how it looks up close like it looks like a beautiful beautiful picture They printed it.

Well, the quality is good Like you can see all the detail on his hair Like I definitely hit focus because it's in focus this, you know close-up or blown up I love this.

I Am clearly so impressed So what I think I'm gonna do is go tomorrow and get the appropriate sized frame for it because I Definitely don't want it to get beat up.

I don't want to ruin it So I want to put it in a frame right away and I have the perfect spot on my wall for it So I'm going to rearrange my wall a little bit.

This is also photos.

I've taken this one as well this one up here and like the rest is just Kind of concert music stuff that I love especially My Alice Cooper five dollar bill But I have this old record sleeve of Tom Hetty's so I'm going to keep this kind of centered and put the poster down here and Kind of move everything around it Guys I'm I'm so excited.

Like honestly I could not have asked for a better print and I'm I'm impressed for how much it was I am Incredibly incredibly impressed So I will record it again Tomorrow once I get the new frame and we'll put everything up and see how the wall looks after that.

Okay? see you guys but so it is the next day and I now have my Frame for my Tom Petty poster and I am going to clean up the wall.

That's right here behind me and Get ready to put up this poster.

I am so excited.

The frame is beautiful.

The frame is just like this big huge Basic thing that I got at Walmart, so it's it wasn't that much I think it was like 16 dollars and Then I'm gonna put my print into it, see how it looks and get ready and hang it I just realized that I never Thought about how I was gonna hang it up So now I have to go find a hammer and nails and see if we can get this thing, huh? Okay, this is beautiful, there's so much glare from my window right now Yeah patty you got more patty I Think it looks real good I'm really excited have finally hung it up and I'm going to do a little bit more Decoration around the edges and everything, but for now I'm so happy like the print still looks so so good I have like no complaints about ordering this print and Yeah, I'm just super super happy.

Oh my gosh you guys this is amazing So good Yes, the last thing that I wanted to say it was that I did order through this print this is not sponsored That's just who I ordered through and I spent 1499 on the poster itself getting it printed and about 1617 dollars I think on the frame the only issues I had with Vistaprint and the poster itself is that vistaprint allows TI FF photos TIFF photos, whatever you want to call on and when I tried to order my poster, I tried to use that format and Vistaprint actually didn't allow it.

It said that it was too big so that was kind of Annoying for me to have a website say hey, we allow this kind of photo which has more information but then when I went to upload that type of photo that file format It was like no you can't do this.

This is too much information.

So I thought that was kind of stupid Frustrating on my part because obviously I wanted to use the best quality that I could get But I wound up just converting it to JPEG and the poster itself looks beautiful.

So no complaints there It was just kind of annoying going through the actual purchasing process for a poster.

It actually cost me $22, I forgot about shipping and tax, but for a poster that was $22 and then like 16 17 bucks for a frame.

I actually think that it turned out great It looks good.

It's the quality that I would expect for a poster.

So I'm really happy with it And I'm really happy that it's on my wall.

So all in all for what I paid for it I am super excited about this poster.

I am very happy to have it on my wall I have never seen my work this big before so I'm super stoked and just so happy that it turned out this well, so thanks for hanging out with me guys as I bought and unpackage this and hopefully you found this interesting and you can go get a poster of your own work now - Thanks, and we'll see you in the next video.

Bye guys.

Lithography is an offset printing process which involves creating an image on a plate, then using that plate to transfer the image to a rubber blanket and then to the paper.

A system of water repulsion is used to protect non-printed surfaces from absorbing ink.

Lithography provides extremely crisp and clean prints especially where photographs are used as part of the image.

But the downside is cost. On a per-piece basis, Lithograph printing is cost-prohibitive for small quantities, because set-up time for the press is built into the price. Regardless of how many prints are being made, set-up costs are the same.

The only way to bring the per-piece price down is to order in large quantities. It’s not uncommon for printers to have minimum quantity requirements in order to justify the time and expense of press set-up.

Advances in digital printing are revolutionizing poster printing as well the entire print industry.

Layouts and images are now often designed before hand by the customer and delivered to the printer on a disc. This eliminates the need for the services of the print shop’s in-house layout department, saving time and money.

With digital there are no plates to prepare, no inks to blend, and no monitoring of presses to assure consistency.

Digital printing uses large-scale inkjet printers attached to a standard desktop computer.

A minor amount of image manipulation might be required to match the image to the printer’s format, but once that’s done it only takes a mouse click and you’re off and printing.

And modern fade-resistant inks mean a final product which rivals lithography in overall quality.

Additionally, the efficiency and speed of digital printing today result in a lower cost per piece for smaller jobs.

It virtually guarantees a consistent product throughout the run and also allows further runs be produced with no additional set-up.

For individual consumers, digital printing offers them the ability to make a poster or two for their own family gatherings, holidays, and other special occasions without ever leaving home.

Images can be created on the home computer then uploaded to the site of an online print shop. One just needs to enter payment and shipping information and then wait for his posters to arrive. It couldn’t be simpler.

There’s still plenty of room for both lithography and digital in the world of poster printing.

Each has its advantages and disadvantages depending on customer needs. Yet regardless of which process is used, one thing’s for certain: the print industry continues to evolve.

So what draws the audience attention solook at this poster for example try to look at this poster and see where youreyes land first and where it stay the longest so if you were methis is the thing that I would see first the big title and the second I would seethe largest illustration in the poster that immediately draw the attention andfollow that is all the subtitle the introduction objective methods resultconclusion that type in both typeface and with a very distinctive color on itand then my I will draw again to the illustration and then to thegraph and all the charts say and finally it's the text that's the last thing Iwant to look at and something in this example you can see that in thisbeautiful poster if I delete all the text out you can see that it still makea very beautiful and impactful poster because 90% of the poster isillustration is all the figure graph maps that draw the attention of theaudience so I went to talk to poster judges and some of the students that win the best poster award so these are few checklists that everyone recommendswhen you design a poster so first you need to have a clear flow either is fromtop to bottom (vertical poster) or from left to right (horizontal poster) you need to arrange into your content sothat it will lead the eyes of the audience and follow the flow thesequence that you wanted to and second you need to have a clear takeawaymessage it's very important to address why this research is important whyshould people care that's the one main thing that the poster judges are lookingfor and you need to address also like what did you do and what did you file inthe methodology and in the result in discussion part so very clear maybe youcan use bullet points Oh doesn't it pull upon it has been avery clear message so third you know design should be should content of 80%illustration like figure graph and stuff and just 20 percent of text to elaborateand to give a context of what are you presenting in the illustration and allthe graphs should be self explanatory it means that if the graph need you tobe there to explain to audience it is completely filled already so youcan put some detailed notes in small text next to like figure number one andthen you can put a note over there and also when you want to add any text tryto limit it in less than three line paragraph and also less than three typeof France in the whole design and also three different size so make sure youleave enough of blank space to breathe in your design and lastly you can designthe poster follow a theme color for example if you research about the oceanyou can choose like a bluish color or if you smoke something about industrialmaybe some gray black scale might be look interesting so you can use the eyedrop to choose to color accordingly and so what should you avoid in design aposter so try to avoid chaotic poster don't just put everything from yourpublication into the poster and then just present it as it and don't put allthe experiment and results you find in the poster because poster is the limitedspace and then you need to draw the attention of the audience and after thatyou can explain more you don't need to put everything in the poster and make itbusy so keep it less than three three conclusion three result that isI could enough and try to stay away from BC takes because no one wants to readtext so just imagine a poster is like a exhibit in the museum so people justwalking by and then they stop at the one that draw the attention and then theylook at the artifact which is the illustration in your poster and then ifthey is still interested they look at the small taste underneath to have acontext to understand more so that is the purpose of the poster and lastlystay away from complicated graph with unnecessary data so if it doesn't serveany purpose don't put it there if they have the graph there and you say justignore this graph you don't need this this is more important so just ideallythe ones are not important to me just keep the one that important anddeliver the point so I always wanted to think poster as 70% infographic and 30%scientific paper so if you can fuse these two you have a very interestingand beautiful looking a scientific poster.
